Thai Basil Chicken (Gai Pad Krapow)

Thai Basil Chicken (Gai Pad Krapow) is one of my favorite dish.  It’s absolutely delicious, and you’ll be surprised how quick and easy it is to make. Thai Basil Chicken or Gai Pad Krapow is a Thai street food that has gained popularity around the world.  All you need to make this amazing food is,  breast chicken, basil leaves, soy sauce, onion, garlic and honey.  Diced chicken and cook it with onion, garlic and red pepper, then  add honey and soy sauce and fresh basil.  It takes almost 15 minutes to prepare.  Let me know if you like it.  Enjoy! 🙂 😛

 

 

 

Thai Basil Chicken (Gai Pad Krapow)

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings 4

Ingredients

3-4 teaspoons canola oil

2 fresh red chiles, cut into thin slices

1 large onion,  minced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1/2 inch pieces

2 teaspoons honey or sugar

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/3 cup water

1 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

1. Heat 3 tablespoons canola oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium high then add onion and cook, stirring, until golden.

2. Add garlic, turmeric powder, red pepper, and cook about 30 seconds longer.

3. Increase the heat to high and add the chicken and 1/3 cup water. Cook for  8-10 minutes or until light golden.

4. Add the basil, soy sauce, honey and stir well, about 1 minute.

5. Serve with rice.
